Romans 15:7-13

7: Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.
8: For I say that Christ has become a servant to the circumcision on behalf of the truth of God to confirm the promises given to the fathers,
9: and for the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy; as it is written, “THEREFORE I WILL GIVE PRAISE TO YOU AMONG THE GENTILES, AND I WILL SING TO YOUR NAME.”
10: Again he says, “REJOICE, O GENTILES, WITH HIS PEOPLE.”
11: And again, “PRAISE THE LORD ALL YOU GENTILES, AND LET ALL THE PEOPLES PRAISE HIM.”
12: Again Isaiah says, “THERE SHALL COME THE ROOT OF JESSE, AND HE WHO ARISES TO RULE OVER THE GENTILES, IN HIM SHALL THE GENTILES HOPE.”

13: Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Paul encouraged the people to accept one another as Christ had accepted them. Jesus was a servant to the Jews to confirm the promises of God to their ancestors, and He was a servant to the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy.

Paul then quoted Scriptures regarding the Gentiles—all nations—rejoicing and praising the Lord. He referenced David when he spoke his song of deliverance in 2 Samuel 22:50, the song of Moses in Deuteronomy 32:43, and he quoted from Psalm 117:1. Then he quoted Isaiah 11:10 to speak of the Lord’s rule over the Gentiles as they put their hope in Him. So once again we see the Word of God prophesying the salvation of all nations, all peoples who put their trust in the Lord, whether Jew or not.

Our God is a God who offers hope to all, and Paul prayed that in their believing, this God of hope would fill them with all joy and peace so they might abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. As believers, we are to put aside petty differences and allow the righteousness, peace, joy, and hope of God to take precedence in our lives through the Holy Spirit. All of us who believe share the same Holy Spirit, and the same faith in one God and one Lord.
